BLACK MYTHOLOGY EXPERIENCE | FIND YOUR PLACE
The Black Mythology Project creates experiential storytelling spaces that center the collective memory and imagination of the Black diaspora. At a time when the history of Black people in America is being rewritten, it becomes a creative act of resistance to introduce participants to alternate methods to reconstruct the story of our past and chart a different path toward the future.
Find your Place centers collage as a political practice that helps community members identify themselves as active participants in history. This event is titled in honor of Romare Bearden, an artist and agitator for Civil Rights who believed collage could “depict the life of [his] people.”
